What We Fund

ThriveAC Fund supports both 501c3 nonprofit organizations and fiscally-sponsored community groups.

We support work that spans a wide array of missions including arts and culture, youth development, environment, social enterprises, neighborhood improvement, and beautification.

We believe that the people leading the organizations we are investing in know best how and when to use their funding, and therefore, we provide unrestricted general operating grants allowing organizations the freedom and flexibility to utilize the funds.

Our grantmaking is structured within three programs:

Leadership Grants

Atlantic City needs strong, well-resourced and well-staffed anchor nonprofits to help drive the city’s revitalization. We have a strong interest in funding strategic efforts that can help an organization scale its operations or support innovation that creates new frameworks for moving Atlantic City forward. Eligible organizations must have well-developed growth strategies and implementation plans. The Leadership Grants program offers multi-year grants ranging from $25,000 to $75,000 per year; distributed over two to five years.

Community Grants

Harnessing and growing philanthropic assets focused on Atlantic City is important. So is community-driven philanthropic decision-making, which is why we support the Atlantic City Community Fund with a $50,000 grant, payable in five annual installments. The Atlantic City Community Fund will regrant these dollars through the Fund’s bi-annual community grant awards program.

A vibrant Atlantic City needs a wide array of activities, including annual programs and events, one-off projects, and experimental initiatives. We are interested in supporting small organizations with budgets no greater than $400,000 with grants that range between $1,000 and $5,000.

ThriveAC Fund is part of the Renn-Sanchez Family Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of South Jersey (CFSJ). All grant awards made by ThriveAC Fund will be managed and distributed by CFSJ.
